The South West Peninsula League was formed following an amalgamation of the South Western Football League and the Devon County Football League in June 2007 and consists of 3 divisions.
Division 1 West Clubs -  the majority come from Cornwall and the others from West Devon and placed at Step 7 of the National League System.
 At the end of each season:
One club can be promoted from the Premier Division to the Western League Premier, the bottom 2 clubs can be relegated to Division 1 East & West. One club from each of Division 1 East & West can be promoted to the Premier Division. The bottom side in each of the Division 1's can be relegated to
one of 6 feeder leagues beneath the league.


DIVISION 1 WEST MATCH REPORTS
Saturday 6th March
With various cup commitments there were just 5 West division games this afternoon but the matches played did include 3 of the top 4 being in action with the undoubted match of the day seeing St Austell cement their 2nd place in the table with a 2-1 win away at 4th placed Perranporth. Leaders Newquay followed up their midweek win over Vospers with a comfortable 5-0 win away at Millbrook to retain top slot. Elsewhere it was a case of home rule as Callington beat visiting Penryn Athletic 4-1 on their own Marshfield Park, Dobwalls were in action on their own Lantoom Park pitch and they beat visitors Porthleven 2-0 and in a rapidly re-arranged match Vospers Oak Villa beat Truro City 3-0 on their own Weston Mill turf.
Tuesday 2nd March
Newquay hosted the only West game of this midweek and took full advantage by recording a 3-2 win over Vospers Oak Villa at Mount Wise which was enough for the Peppermints to climb to the top of the table. Luke Weldhen scored twice and Scott Palmer once for the hosts but Villa made a real game of it as they replied through both James Simmons and Jamie Honeywill.
